Something interesting happened this month on a stretch of road between New York City and Long Island. The ITS World Congress VII demonstration committee successfully tested advanced vehicle communication technology along the 50-mile route as part of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Vehicle Infrastructure Initiative (VII).
